WILSON NC COLD CASES

The Wilson Police Department has been reviewing several cold cases during the past year. A cold case is one that has gone unsolved and currently has no apparent leads.


Kenan Lamont Newton, Case Number: 16-002799

On June 10, 2016, Officers responded to 1011 Branch Street in reference to a check person’s welfare call. The caller reported a subject was lying face down and was not moving. Officers arrived and found that the victim had suffered a gunshot wound. EMS arrived and determined that the victim was deceased.


Isabel Calvo Palacios, Case Number: 15-003930

On August 4, 2015, Isabel Calvo Palacios was reported missing to the Wilson Police Department. The investigation led investigators to 4710 Ward Boulevard which later led to the arrest of Gregory Kent Parks. On November 15, 2017, a Pitt County jury found Gregory Kent Parks guilty of First Degree Murder by the commission of attempted second degree rape and by the commission of Second Degree Kidnapping as well as guilty of First Degree Kidnapping, Obtaining Property by False Pretenses and Obtaining the Status of a Habitual Felon. Isaac Junior Johnson, Case Number: 13-002726

On May 15, 2013, Officers responded to the 300 Block of Maury Street after a person reported seeing a person lying in the street and not breathing. Upon arrival, Officers located Isaac Junior Johnson who had been assaulted. Johnson was taken to the hospital for treatment. Johnson later died from complications associated with the assault.

Quan Deon Johnson, Case Number: 13-000229

On January 11, 2013, Officers responded to 1108 Churchill Avenue Southwest in reference to a family member calling to report that their brother had been shot. Officers arrived and found Quan Deon Johnson deceased at the residence.

Ladarius Vontay Sutton, Case Number: 12-003618

On June 7, 2012, Officers responded to 407-B Rountree Street West in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, Ladarius Sutton was located suffering from a gunshot wound. Sutton was transported to Wilson Medical Center for treatment where he was later pronounced deceased.


Keith Lamar Johnson, Case Number: 12-000317

On January 15, 2012, Officers responded to 1009 Randolph Street South, in reference to a cardiac arrest call with Wilson County EMS on the scene. Keith Johnson was located deceased in the residence.


Bessie Marie Vinson, Case Number: 11-006042

On September 24, 2011, Officers responded to 913 College Circle North, Apartment B in reference to a cardiac arrest with Wilson County Emergency Medical Services on scene. Officers located Bessie Vinson deceased in the residence. Vinson’s death was later ruled as a homicide.


Brian Dominic Mitchell, Case Number: 10-001760

On March 25, 2010, Officers responded to 500 Block of Fairview Avenue Southwest in reference to a shooting. Brian Mitchell was transported by friends to the Wilson Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased. .


Danny Andre Snow, Jr., Case Number: 08-005653

On May 22, 2008, Officers responded to 134 Narrow Way Street East in reference to an assault that had taken place there. Officers arrived and found Danny Snow deceased in the residence.


Fawzi A Y Nawas, Case Number: 08-003558

On March 3, 2008, Officers responded to 705 Black Creek Road Southeast in reference to a robbery of the business. Upon arrival, Officers found Fawzi Nawas unresponsive. Nawas was transported to Wilson Medical Center and Wake Medical Center for treatment where he later died.


Anthony Deandre Jones, Case Number: 07-026497

On May 12, 2007, Officers responded to 1704 Birchwood Drive Southeast in reference to a shooting. Officers responded and found Anthony Jones deceased outside the residence.

Tealette Princess Davis, Case Number: 07-051431

On August 28, 2007, Officers responded to 600 Gay Street South in reference to a female lying in the area behind White’s Tire Service. Officers and Emergency Medical Personnel responded and found Tealette Davis deceased who had been reported missing earlier that morning.


Ronnie Demorris Barnes, Jr., Case Number: 06-020612

On April 30, 2006, Officers were alerted by the public that a body had been located in an alley-way between downtown businesses in the 300 Block of Barnes Street South. Officers later determined that the body was that of Ronnie Demorris Barnes Jr., who had been reported missing on March 26, 2006. The Medical Examiner classified Barnes’ death as homicide.


JoAnne Cynthia Anderson, Case Number: 06-001791

On January 10, 2006, Officers were dispatched to a DOA at 409 Pender Street East in Wilson. Upon arrival, JoAnne Cynthia Anderson was found deceased inside the residence. The case was later ruled as a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office.


Luis Chinchilla-Rosales, Case Number: 04-071489

On August 31, 2004, Officers were dispatched to a shooting at 415 Winstead Street North in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival at the apartment complex, Officer located Luis Chinchilla-Rosales suffering from gunshot wounds. Chinchilla-Rosales was transported by Wilson County Emergency Medical Services to Wilson Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.


Julio Cesar Vasquez Porfirio, Case Number: 04-068592

On August 22, 2004, Officers were flagged down and directed to a person who had been shot in the 600 Block of Fairview Avenue. Officers located Julio Cesar Vasquez Porfirio deceased and lying beside his bicycle in the street.


Joseph Mark Jones, Case Number: 03-032393

On April 17, 2003, Officers were dispatched to the 800 Block of Gay Street in reference to an assault. Officers arrived and found Joseph Mark Jones suffering from several stab wounds. Jones was transported to Wilson Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries.


Dorothy Mae Hendricks, Case Number: 02-099811

On December 13, 2002, Dorothy Mae Hendricks was reported missing by her mother from 1735 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway in Wilson. Hendricks is a black female that was 38 years of age at the time of the report, had a light complexion with brown eyes and black hair and was about 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds. She was last seen on December 5, 2002 wearing a long black sweater, blue jeans and black boots and walking away from the former Woodard’s Motel.


Constance Melissa Pender, Case Number: 97-072352

On October 10, 1997, Officers responded to the 1300 Block of Phillips Street in reference to a body being located in the woods near the train tracks. The body was that of a female and she was later identified as Constance Melissa Pender who had been assaulted and killed.


Nakia Shamone Bynum, Case Number: 97-063769

On September 9, 1997, Nakia Shamone Bynum was reported missing from 603-A Broad Street by her mother who last saw her on August 24, 1997. Also on September 9, 1997, a deceased person was located off of Benton Road in a field in Nash County. Later that month, the deceased person found in Nash County was determined to be that of Nakia Shamone Bynum.


Roberto Allar Alverez, Case Number: 95-027659

On April 20, 1995, Officers of the Wilson Police Department were dispatched to 1012 Black Creek Road in reference to a subject being shot. Officers arrived and found Roberto Allar Alverez lying on the property deceased from a gunshot wound. Through investigative efforts, a warrant was obtained on April 21, 1995 for Antonio Trinadad Floras formerly of 1503 Coleman Street in Wilson. Floras has not been located.


“John Doe,” Case Number: 93-014120

On April 8, 1993, the skeletal remains of an unknown male were located in Buckhorn Reservoir. It was estimated that he had been deceased for several years. An anthropologist examined the remains and stated they belonged to a caucasian, possibly Hispanic male, 17-22 years old that stood approximately 5’5” tall. The male was wearing size 30M Levis Stratus jeans and a belt with a white belt buckle. Alma Ruth Atkinson, Case Number: 82-005373

On July 31, 1982, Officers of the Wilson Police Department were dispatched to 608 Suggs Street in reference to a subject being down. Officers arrived and found Alma Ruth Atkinson deceased inside the residence. Below is a composite sketch of the suspect that was done shortly after this investigation was initiated.
